Professor Liu Yushu's experience in the treatment of pediatric cerebral palsy based on the theory of"brain-gut axis"

Abstract
Professor Liu Yushu believes that the main causes of cerebral palsy are congenital deficiency and postnatal malnutrition.The brain is the organ for primordial mental activity,governing the five senses and nine orifices.The root cause of cerebral palsy is"insufficient marrow sea".Deficiency of congenital essence can easily block clear orifices,damage the marrow sea,obstruct meridians,and make it difficult for the acquired essence to nourish the marrow sea,resulting in insufficient marrow sea.Postnatal malnutrition,deficient qi and blood,and insufficient marrow sea can lead to malnourished brain and other orifices,difficulty in walking,and muscular atrophy.Based on the theory of"brain-gut axis",Professor Liu Yushu adopts the basic treatment principle of tonifying the brain and replenishing the marrow,supplemented by nourishing the spleen and kidney.She explores the treatment of cerebral palsy in children with modified Kongsheng Zhenzhong Pills in combination with traditional Chinese medicine rehabilitation therapies,providing new ideas for the research on pathogenesis and treatment plan of cerebral palsy.This article summarizes Professor Liu Yushu's academic experience,explores the relationship between the"brain-gut axis"and cerebral palsy,and opens up its novel treatment strategies for future generations.关键词
