Abstract

To meet the shortage of forestry talent in the rural revitalization and the demands of the new round of scientific and technological revolution for forestry intelligent and precise management professionals,China has actively advanced the"New Agricultural Science"initiative,setting higher standards for cultivating forestry economic management talents.The key to evaluating the effectiveness of the cultivation of forestry economic management talents lies in whether graduates can meet practical needs of forestry employers under the context of new agricultural science.The cultivation of forestry talents should aim at enabling students with core competencies of pro-fessional expertise.Establishing an evaluation index system based on the core competencies of the forestry economic management major to assess the effectiveness of talent cultivation is an inevitable requirement fo guiding the direction of teaching reform.This paper employed Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP),expert consultation method and questionnaire survey method to calculate the evaluation scores of the core competency of forestry economic management talents.The results showed that:(1)The comprehensive score of the core competency of current students majoring in forestry economic management was 6.7034.In the secondary indicators,the score of management ability was the lowest and that of comprehensive quality was the highest.In the tertiary indicators,the scores of self-learning ability and humanistic quality were the highest,while that of foreign language application ability and scientific and technological application ability were relatively low.(2)The cultivation of the core competency of current forestry economic management talents showed the characteristics of emphasizing practical skills over professional knowledge,insufficient adaptability of the ability structure and unbalanced development of comprehensive quality.The article constructed an evaluation index system for the core competency of forestry economic management talents from a new perspective that was demand-driven and supply-oriented methodology,providing a reference basis for the formulation of forestry economic management talent cultivation programs and education teaching reforms.Based on the research conclusions and discussions,the policy implications were put forward:optimizing the cultivation system of colleges and universities and strengthening professional knowledge education,strengthening the decision-making planning and standard formulation in the forestry field,promoting the participation of forestry enterprises and industry associations in talent cultivation,and promoting the index evaluation methods and encouraging other majors to build an appropriate system.
