Abstract

Under China's"Dual Carbon"goals,Guiyang,as a core area of the southwestern ecological barrier,is of great significance for its low-carbon transition.Integrating carbon emission assessment with public environmental cognition-behavior perspectives,this study employs spatial analysis,LMDI decomposition,and questionnaire surveys to analyze the spatiotemporal evolution and driving mechanisms of land use carbon emissions in Guiyang from 2002 to 2022.The results show that:(1)Carbon emissions increased by 4.22 times,with high-emission areas expanding southwestward,and old urban districts such as Yunyan and Nanming becoming hotspots due to intensive development and traffic congestion;(2)LMDI decomposition indicates that economic development was the dominant driver in the early stage,while post-2012,reduced energy intensity and clean technology adoption contributed to emission reductions,though energy structure transition lagged;(3)Significant spatial heterogeneity and group differences exist in residents'low-carbon cognition and behavior,with highly educated groups showing a"high cognition-low behavior"paradox,and commuting patterns and income levels shaping differentiated emission patterns.Based on these findings,low-carbon development pathways for Guiyang that integrate carbon emission assessment with public cognition-behavior are proposed.
