Exploration of National"Harmony and Unity"Thought in Su Zhe's Poetry and Prose

Abstract
The"harmony and unity"culture is a core element of the excellent traditional Chinese culture and has profoundly influenced the formation of the Chinese nation community.During the Northern and Southern Song Dynasties,the ethnic relations were complex,and various ethnic groups learned from each other,integrated,and developed amidst exchanges and conflicts.The Central Plains,with its cultural and economic advantages,promoted a social integration pat-tern characterized by"unity as one family".As an important politician and litterateur of the Northern Song Dynasty,Su Zhe's poetry and prose reflected rich thought of national"harmony and unity":he proposed the concept of"peace with neighbors through strengthening the military to stop wars",advocating the construction of strategic advantages through a prosperous nation and the powerful military to achieve peace at minimal cost;he promoted the idea of"long-term stabil-ity and good relations"for ethnic coexistence and his poems written during his mission to the Liao Dynasty demonstrated diplomatic wisdom and a vision for peace,and achieving long-term stability through"abandoning land to maintain peace"presented his governance wisdom that transcended immediate territorial gains and losses;he adhered to the idea of na-tional integration based on"equality and mutual benefit"and"conciliation and enlightenment",advocating equal treat-ment of southern ethnic minorities and promoting national integration through trade,mutual trust,and cultural education.Su Zhe's thought of national"harmony and unity"deeply aligns with contemporary national policies,providing historical insights for forging a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation.关键词
