Genetic diversity analysis and comprehensive evaluation by entropy-weighted TOPSIS of 196 non-heading Chinese cabbage accessions

Abstract
[Objective]This study aimed to analyze the genetic diversity of germplasm resources and identify elite accessions in non-heading Chinese cabbage.[Methods]Using 196 germplasm resources collected nationwide,a randomized block design was implemented.The relationships among phenotypic traits were investigated through correlation analysis,principal component analysis(PCA),cluster analysis,and a comprehensive evaluation using the entropy-weighted TOPSIS method.[Results]The 21 phenotypic traits exhibited varying degrees of variation,with the central core longitudinal diameter showing the greatest coef-ficient variation(50.78%)and plant type the lowest(11.96%).The genetic diversity index ranged from 5.16 to 5.27,being highest for plant type and lowest for leaf blistering degree,indicating significant genetic variation.PCA categorized the 21 phe-notypic traits into five principal components,with contribution rates of 21.29%,14.54%,9.19%,8.48%,and 5.71%,re-spectively,and a cumulative contribution rate ranging from 21.29%to 59.20%,effectively capturing the main characteristics of the phenotypic data.Correlation analysis confirmed the significant interrelationship among the traits.Cluster analysis at a Eu-clidean distance of 0.98 grouped the 196 accessions into five distinct clusters,from which potential germplasms for breeding heat-tolerant and cold-tolerant varieties were identified.Evaluation of 15 key traits using the entropy-weighted TOPSIS meth-od indicated that 20 accessions,including Nos 189,184,and 66,are suitable for use as high-quality parental lines.[Conclusion]The non-heading Chinese cabbage resources assessed possess significant genetic variation.Fourteen primary traits,including plant height,leaf length,petiole length,leaf width,heart filling degree,plant type,stem clasping,leaf tip shape,petiole width,petiole thickness,central core longitudinal diameter,leaf number,and petiole cross-sectional shape,were identified as the main traits underlying phenotypic differences in this crop.关键词
