Abstract
In the early stage of the national War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression,due to the diversion of the Yellow River and the restrictions imposed by the Kuomintang,the strategic focus of the CPC in Henan gradually shifted from western Henan to eastern Henan and the border area be-tween Henan and Hubei.After the outbreak of the Battle in Central Henan,in order to avoid friction between the Kuomintang and the CPC,the CPC Central Committee and the local resistance bases had different considerations on the establishment time,development strength and other issues of the Resistance Base in Western Henan.Guided by the strategy of"development to the south",the CPC Central Committee finally decided to deploy the Taihang Military Region,Taiyue Military Region,the Fourth and Fifth Divisions of the New Fourth Army,and the forces of the Shanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region to enter Henan in batches to cooperate in opening up western Henan.Howev-er,due to the complexity of the forces in Western Henan,the original proposal that military forces of the Henan Military Region go south to central Henan to connect the Fifth Division is difficult to im-plement for the time being,and the Henan regional party committee also has a deviation in its under-standing of the development of central Henan by the CPC Central Committee.After the CPC Central Committee has telegraphed many times that in July,1945,the Henan military region and the Hubei Henan border unified their strategic understanding and finally realized the strategic vision of connect-ing the Eighth Route Army in North China and the fifth division of the New Fourth Army.关键词
