WSN Coverage Optimization Based on a Multi-strategy Differential Evolution Algorithm

Abstract
To address the issue of uneven node distribution caused by random deployment in traditional wireless sensor networks(WSNs),leading to reduced network quality,an improved multi-strategy differential evolution algorithm(MSDE)is proposed for WSN coverage optimization.Firstly,elite individual initialization is used in the algorithm's initialization phase to enhance the quality of the initial population.Secondly,mutation strategies are designed according to the characteristics of each iterative stage to improve global search capabilities.In addition,a periodic fluctuation strategy is introduced to prevent the algorithm from converging to local optima.Lastly,the optimization capability of the MSDE is validated through benchmark test functions.The MSDE achieved WSN coverage rate improvements of 12.63,17.48,and 21.16 percentage points respectively compared to the standard differential evolution algorithm under three distinct experimental scenarios.The results demonstrate that MSDE is effective and applicable for WSN coverage optimization problems.关键词
