Abstract

Against the backdrop of traditional energy shortages and worsening climate conditions,the vigorous development of PV power generation has become a global consensus.This paper first provides an overview of the global PV market in 2024,systematically reviews and analyzes the PV market developments in major countries worldwide,and finally offers a forecast of the future trends in the global PV market.The analysis results show that:1)In 2024,global PV power generation achieved a new installed capacity of 530 GW,with cumulative installed capacity surpassing 2000 GW.2)China continued to lead the global PV market,with a balanced focus on centralized and distributed PV power generation.In 2024,China's new installed capacity of PV power generation exceeded 270 GW.3)The USA saw approximately 50 GW of new installed capacity of PV power generation in 2024,driven primarily by utility-scale PV power generation projects.4)As an emerging PV market,India set a record of 30 GW for new installed capacity of PV power generation in 2024.5)Brazil and Germany accelerated their PV power generation project deployment,achieving 14 GW and 17 GW of new installed capacity of PV power generation,respectively,in 2024.6)Japan's PV market remained relatively stable,with 5.5 GW of new installed capacity of PV power generation in 2024.7)In the short term,the global PV market growth rate has slowed.However,from a medium-to-long-term perspective,the global PV market holds vast development prospects,with cumulative installed capacity of PV power generation projected to reach 7 TW by 2030.
