摘要

Abstract

In 2005,a set of bronze chime bells from the Warring States period was excavated at the Chengyangcheng Site in Xinyang,Henan Province.Despite being buried underground for over two millennia,this set of bells remained remarkably well-preserved,gleaming with a golden luster upon excavation and showing almost no signs of corrosion.Since 2010,these chime-bells have been housed and displayed in the central exhibition case of the"Royal Style of Chu Land"hall at the Xinyang Museum.However,museum staff observed that starting from 2015,spotty and flaky black rust stains gradually appeared on the surface of the bells,with the corroded areas continuing to expand.Additionally,the overall luster of the bells has been diminishing,and the color of the metal body has been darkening.These findings indicate that the chime bells are undergoing rapid corrosion in the current museum environment.This work combines the environmental data of Xinyang and the corrosion mechanism of bronze ware to study the environmental factors causing the corrosion.It also uses cultural heritage risk management to measure the impact of these factors and analyze the risks to the bronze chime bells,aiming to help with their preservation and restoration.
