Abstract

Monitoring the temporal and spatial distribution of total phosphorus and chlorophyll a concentration can provide a scientific basis for marine ecological protection.Based on the measured data of chlorophyll a and total phosphorus concentrations in 2023,the changes of chlorophyll a and total phosphorus concentrations in the Pearl River Estuary-Jiangmen Sea area from 2018 to 2023 were inverted using the random forest regression model based on the OLCI water color sensor carried by Sentinel-3A satellite,and their spatio-temporal variation characteristics and driving factors were analyzed.The results showed that the chlorophyll a concentration decreased from 2018 to 2023,and then increased after the low point in 2021,and decreased in nearshore and pelagic waters.The concentration of chlorophyll a was the highest in summer and the lowest in winter,and the concentration of chlorophyll a in summer,autumn and winter of 2021 was the lowest in six years,which may be affected by drought.From 2021 to 2023,chlorophyll a gradually increased from January to June,stabilized after the peak in June,and began to decline in October.The total phosphorus concentration increased significantly after 2021,and the increased rate in coastal waters was greater than that in other areas.The total phosphorus concentration was higher in winter and lowest in summer,and fluctuated significantly in spring and summer.The total phosphorus concentration in 2023 was higher than that in the previous two years,showing a low concentration from April to September,a high concentration from October to March of the following year,and a large change range in coastal waters.In spring and summer,sea surface temperature and wind speed increased the concentration of chlorophyll a and dissolved oxygen increased the concentration of total phosphorus.In autumn and winter,sea surface temperature and precipitation were the main promoting factors of chlorophyll a.
