On-orbit Relative Radiometric Calibration and Validation for Siwei Gaojing-1 01 and 02 Satellites

Abstract
The Siwei Gaojing-1 01 and 02 satellites are commercial optical satellites with agile imaging capabilities.These satellites can perform various imaging modes,including multi-band stitching imaging,stereoscopic imaging,multi-target imaging,multi-angle imaging and active push-broom imaging.The satellites provide images with a resolution of no less than 0.35 meters and are primarily designed to meet market demands in applications such as target recognition,flood detection,building extraction,and vegetation coverage analysis.To improve the radiometric calibration accuracy of the Siwei Gaojing-1 01 and 02 satellites and meet the demands for quantitative remote sensing data,massive on-orbit observation data are utilized to implement a statistical calibration method.This approach addresses the nonlinear response variations in the sensor channels,which typically cause poor calibration performance in the low and high brightness ranges,thus enhancing the relative radiometric calibration accuracy.Using quantitative evaluation metrics including generalized image noise,mean standard deviation,and row-wise mean standard deviation,the calibration results indicate significant improvements.For the Gaojing-1 01 satellite,the average values of generalized noise,mean standard deviation,and row-wise standard deviation after calibration are 2.491%,2.267%and 0.845%,respectively,for the Gaojing-1 02 satellite,these values are 2.609%,2.268%and 0.888%.The results demonstrate that the statistical calibration method based on mass on-orbit data can effectively improve the radiometric quality of the Siwei Gaojing-1 01 and 02 satellite images,providing strong support for the routine production and high-quality quantitative applications of Gaojing satellite data products.关键词
