Abstract

To effectively support the integration and application of multi-source nitrogen dioxide(NO2)data,a systematic evaluation of the accuracy of mainstream satellite remote sensing products is required.The Pandora station in Beijing is taken as the reference value to verify the accuracy of three types of Total NO2 Vertical Column Density remote sensing data,namely Ozone Monitoring Instrument(OMI),Tropospheric Monitoring Instrument(TROPOMI)and Global Ozone Monitoring Experiment-2(GOME-2).The mean deviation between the NO2 of the three satellites and the observation data of the Pandora site is all negative,indicating that NO2 of the three satellites is generally underestimated.Overall,the Root Mean Square Error(RMSE)of OMI is relatively low(4.04~5.95 Pmolec/cm2),indicating that among the three NO2 remote sensing products,the accuracy of OMI NO2 is relatively high.The accuracy of satellite NO2 data also shows seasonal differences,with poorer accuracy in autumn and winter and better accuracy in spring and summer.Further linear deviation fitting correction is carried out on the three types of NO2 remote sensing data.After correction,the accuracy of OMI NO2 is increased by 15%,the accuracy of TROPOMI NO2 is increased by 32%,and the accuracy of GOME-2 NO2 is increased by 22%.The results show significant improvement on the accuracy of NO2 data from the three types of satellites.
