Research Advances in Tree-Ring Structures Anomalies and Their Relationships with Extreme Environmental Factors

Abstract
Tree-ring structural anomalies serve as important indicators of extreme climate events and hold unique value in dendroclimatological research.As a vital natural archive of climate change,tree rings typically form a complete annual ring each year,layered over the previous year's growth in the wood.Under extreme environmental conditions,cambial activity and cell differentiation are hindered,altering the tree structure and function and resulting in growth anomalies that manifest as structural irregularities in tree rings.This paper reviews the formation mechanisms and types of tree-ring structural anomalies,the relationship between tree-ring anomalies and climate change,and their interactions between tree-ring anomalies and extreme events.It synthesizes the findings and progress from both domestic and international research on anomalous tree rings and explores the correlation between tree-ring structural anomalies and extreme environmental events in specific regions,revealing the distribution characteristics and temporal patterns of anomalous tree rings,providing unique insights into extreme environmental events during historical climate changes.These findings offer valuable contributions to understanding the broader implications of climate variability in dendrochronological studies.关键词
