Application of 3D induced polarization sounding in the exploration of deep-seated magmtic segregation-type ore deposits:A case study of the Yueyawan deposit,Xinjiang

Abstract
The Yueyawan copper-nickel deposit in Xinjiang is a small-scale,complex-type deposit hosted within mafic intrusions.However,the lateral extent and morphological distribution of the mafic complex in the deep part are still unclear,hindering the deployment of deep prospecting work and drill planning.To solve the detection problems such as deep burial,small scale,and irregular geometry of the concealed complex,this study applies a three-dimensional(3D)induced polarization(IP)sounding method utilizing exploration tests.Through 3D inversion of measured data,high-precision resistivity and polarizability models were constructed and integrated with geological and drilling data for comprehensive interpretation.The results show that the ore-bearing complex is characterized by obvious low-resistivity and high-polarization anomalies.It is inferred that the ore-bearing complex extends about 400 meters in the north-south direction and dips northward,with a burial depth between 100 and 400 meters.This study shows that the 3D induced polarization sounding method is effective for the refine 3D characterization of deeply buried and small scale ore-bearing complexes,providing reliable technical support for the exploration of concealed magmatic segregation-type copper-nickel deposits in covered areas.关键词
