Abstract

Fowl adenovirus group Ⅰ(FAdV-Ⅰ)infection is a common infectious disease affecting global poultry and wild birds,characterized by rapid onset and high mortality,causing significant economic losses to global poultry industry.Among them,chickens are most susceptible to FAdV-Ⅰ.In order to identify the latest prevalence of FAdV-Ⅰin chicken flocks in China,1 885 chicken swab samples were collected from 13 administrative regions at the provincial level for nucleic acid testing.The results showed that a total of 166 FAdV-Ⅰ-positive samples were detected,with an overall individual positive rate of 8.81%,covering all the samples regions,especially Henan(16.92%),followed by Hunan(13.64%)and Jiangsu(12.73%);in terms of genotype and serotype distribution,4 genotypes and 10 serotypes were included by the prevalent FAdV-Ⅰ strains,especially serotypes 8a and 8b accounting for 27.27%and 31.82%,respectively,and being dominant;for the distribution of site types,FAdV-Ⅰ was detected in retail markets,wholesale markets,slaughterhouses and poultry farms,with an overall positivity rate of 31.63%.In conclusion,FAdV-Ⅰ was widely prevalent in China,especially multiple stages of poultry production,and the prevalent serotypes had gradually transitioned from FAdV-4 to FAdV-8a and FAdV-8b.The distribution,genetic and phylogenetic characteristics of FAdV-Ⅰ in some provinces of China were revealed,contributing to future prevention and control of FAdV-Ⅰ infection across the country.
