Reliability and Validity of the Habitual Tendencies Questionnaire in Chinese Undergraduates
摘要
Abstract
Objective:To introduce the Habitual Tendencies Questionnaire(HTQ)developed by Ramakrishnan et al.,and to test its reliability and validity in a sample of Chinese undergraduates.Methods:A total of 3201 undergraduate stu-dents were recruited to complete the Chinese version of the HTQ,the Creature of Habit Scale(COHS),the Obsessive-Compulsive Inventory-Revised(OCI-R),and the Intolerance of Uncertainty Scale(IUS).Results:①The discriminant va-lidity of each HTQ item was good.Exploratory factor analysis suggested a three-factor structure for the Chinese version of HTQ:Compulsivity,Preference for Regularity,and Aversion to Novelty.Confirmatory factor analysis indicated the Chinese version of HTQ had a good fit for the three-factor structure(CFI=0.932,TLI=0.909,RMSEA=0.066,SRMR=0.059).②Scores on HTQ were positively correlated with scores on the COHS,OCI-R,and IUS.The factors of Compulsivity and Pref-erence for Regularity were significant predictors of OCI-R scores.③The internal consistency reliability of the total HTQ and its factors(Cronbach's α:0.656～0.878)and the test-retest reliability after two weeks(ICC:0.555～0.711)met psycho-metric standards.Conclusion:The Chinese version of the HTQ demonstrates good reliability and validity in Chinese under-graduates and can be used as a reliable tool for measuring their habit tendencies.关键词
