Establishing a Cross-walk Table from the First Edition to the Second Edition of the Beck Depression Inventory Based on Item Response Theory

Abstract
Objective:To compare the two versions of the Beck Depression Inventory(BDI)and establish a cross-walk table between the two versions.Methods:Using a single-group design,2601 college students completed both versions of the BDI simultaneously.Item parameters were calculated using the Graded Response Model.Five equating methods were used to link the scales to be equated:concurrent calibration based on item response theory and four transformation methods from separate calibration.A cross-walk table was then created.Results:Both versions of the Beck Depression Inventory met all the assumptions required for equating.Based on the principle of parsimony,the equated scores obtained through the concurrent calibration method were selected as the final results for presentation.Conclusion:The two versions of the BDI were successfully linked,generating a cross-walk table that can be used directly.关键词
