Abstract
Objective To explore the therapeutic effects of benzoyl peroxide gel combined with isotretinoin capsules on patients with moderate to severe acne. Methods A retrospective study was conducted on 120 patients with moderate to severe acne admitted to the Department of Dermatology at Luohe Central Hospital from May 2022 to May 2025.Based on treatment differences, the patients were divided into a control group and an observation group, with 60 cases each. The control group received isotretinoin capsules, while the observation group was treated with both benzoyl peroxide gel and isotretinoin capsules, lasting 8 weeks. The skin conditions, skin barrier function, and acne scores of both groups were compared. Results After treatment, the observation group exhibited lower scores for erythema, pores, and purpura compared to the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Additionally,the observation group showed lower sebum content and transepidermal water loss but higher skin hydration levels than the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Post-treatment,the CardiffAcne Disability Index and the Comprehensive Acne Grading System scores were also lower in the observation group than in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusions The combination of benzoyl peroxide gel and isotretinoin capsules can improve skin inflammation, regulate oil and moisture balance, enhance skin barrier function, and reduce the severity of acne in patients with moderate to severe acne.关键词
