摘要

Abstract

[Objective]To investigate the food sources and variations in the trophic niche of Takifugu niphobles with body lengths in the Gaoqiao Mangrove.[Method]Based on samples of T.niphobles and their potential food sources collected from the Gaoqiao Mangrove Reserve during autumn 2021 to summer 2023,carbon and nitrogen stable isotope analysis was used to assess trophic structure of T.niphobles.The SIMMR model was employed to estimate the contribution ratios of organic carbon sources,while the nicheROVER and siar models were used to quantify trophic niche width and overlap among different body-length groups.[Result]The δ13C values of T.niphobles in the Gaoqiao mangrove ranged from-23.74‰ to-13.55‰(mean:-17.45‰±2.47‰),while δ15N values ranged from 12.47‰to 18.52‰(mean:15.33‰±1.11‰).The mean trophic level was 3.96±0.33.Sedimentary organic matter(SOM)was the dominant nutrient source,contributing 95.6%,while the direct contributions of fish and shrimps were extremely low(0.1%each),reflecting a"signal dilution effect"in the model due to SOM acting as a mixed nutrient source.Niche analysis indicated that the(69,84]mm body length group exhibited the widest niche(Corrected standard ellipse area is 9.28,and total niche area is 27.34)and the broadest trophic range,indicating that the indivituals in this body length group are in a critical phase of dietary transition.[Conclusion]T.niphobles in the Gaoqiao mangrove is a top predator that relies mainly on the benthic food web supported by SOM.Its trophic niche varies significantly with body length,and the(69,84]mm group,driven by physiological development and reproductive demands,demonstrates the highest feeding plasticity and habitat use capacity.
