Abstract
Objective To compare the fever rate after the third molar extraction among escort personnel during long-term escort deployment,and to explore the potential influencing factors combined with literature.Methods A total of 48 patients who underwent third molar extraction during the escort mission were divided into pre-deployment group(29 cases)and late-deployment group(19 cases)according to the duration of deployment.Twenty patients of the same age group who underwent third molar extraction at the Second Naval Hospital of Southern Theater Command of PLA in May 2022 were selected and included in control group.The degree of cheek tissue swelling,visual analogue scale(VAS)pain score,wound healing grade and fever after tooth extraction were compared among three groups,and the potential influencing factors for the difference in fever rate were discussed based on literature review.Results There were no significant differences in the degree of cheek tissue swelling,VAS pain score and wound healing grade among three groups(P＞0.05).There was no significant difference in postoperative fever rate between control group and pre-deployment group(P＞0.05),and the fever rate in late-deployment group was significantly higher than that in control group and pre-deployment group(P＜0.05).Conclusion In the late stage of prolonged deployment,the fever rate increased after the third molar extraction.This suggests that it may be associated with special environmental factors at sea,changes in immunological homeostasis and oral bacterial microecology caused by prolonged deployment at sea,and oral hygiene factors.关键词
