Abstract

The eastern margin of the Yinchuan Graben,located in the northern part of the structural belt along the western Ordos basin margin,lies at the junction of the Alxa block,Ordos block,and Qinlin-Qilian fold belt.This region has undergone multi-stage Mesozoic and Cenozoic tectonic activity.Its structural uplift is of great significance to the study of structural evolution and hydrocarbon exploration in the surrounding areas.Based on the age,length characteristics,and thermal history simulation analysis of apatite and zircon fission tracks in different areas and horizons along the eastern margin of the Yinchuan Graben,combined with structural characteristics and stratigraphic contact relationships,this paper points out that the study area has experienced at least four periods of obvious uplift:Late Jurassic(160~145 Ma),Late Cretaceous(100~70 Ma),Early Miocene(22~20 Ma),and Late Miocene(10~8 Ma).There are some differences in uplift characteristics in different periods and regions.In the Mesozoic,uplift began earlier in the northern and southern parts(Early/Middle Jurassic)and progressed gradually towards the middle part.The Late Jurassic uplift was most pronounced in the middle part,with a higher uplift rate compared to the north and south parts.In contrast,Late Cretaceous uplift was comparatively slower across the entire area.Since the Miocene,the uplift began earlier in the southern part and increased in rate northward,and the uplift rate increased northward.These spatiotemporal variations in uplift reflect corresponding geological responses and regional dynamic mechanisms.
