Abstract

In order to solve the negative sequence problem of electrified railroad and reduce the power consumption of traction network,a new type of railway power conditioner(RPC)with three-level hybrid energy storage and the corresponding control strategy are proposed.The new RPC consists of a back-to-back 27-level converter equivalent to a voltage source and a single-phase three-level converter equivalent to a current source connected in series.A three-level hybrid energy storage system is connected to the DC side of the RPC,and the system is categorized into four operation modes according to the direction of power flow.By combining the negative sequence compensation principle and the operation principle,an improved phase-shift construction method is used to combine the active compo-nent of the load current with the hybrid energy storage current component to obtain the compensation current reference signal.By track-ing the reference signal through the current source,negative sequence compensation,peak sharing and valley tilling,and regenerative braking energy recycling can be realized in the traction network.Simulation experiments are conducted under different operation modes to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed structure and control strategy.
