Selection of High-yield and Lodging Resistant Sorghum Varieties for Brewing in Saline Alkali Land of Cangzhou,Hebei Province

Abstract
As a salt tolerant crop,brewing sorghum can achieve planting suitable for the land and contribute to the comprehensive utilization of saline alkali land.Addressing the issues of mixed sorghum varieties,low yield,and poor lodging resistance in saline alkali land in Cangzhou,Hebei Province,brewing sorghum varieties were evaluated comprehensively of from two aspects:yield and lodging resistance to select high-yield and lodging re-sistant sorghum varieties.12 locally grown sorghum varieties were selected as the experimental materials,the growth period,yield traits,and lodging resistance of each variety were investigated.The lodging resistance and high yield of the tested varieties were evaluated comprehensively using entropy weight and TOPSIS methods.The results showed that all varieties can mature and be harvested in early September by sowing in mid May.The Yield of Jinuo NO.6,Jinian NO.2,Jiza 203,Dunuo 201 and Hongguannuowang NO.8 was high,exceeding 6 750 kg/hm2,and were all large spike hybrid vari-eties.Except for Jingzakang 4,Hongguannuowang NO.8,and Hongmaoliang NO.6,which were prone to lodging,all other varieties did not experience lodg-ing.Among them,Dwarf Dunliangwang and Dwarf Nuoliang NO.7 had excellent lodging resistance.The comprehensive evaluation results show that Dwarf Dunliangwang,Dwarf Nuoliang NO.7,Jinuo NO.6,Jinian NO.2,and Jiza 203 rank in the top 5,with good overall performance.The locally cultivated Jinuo NO.6,Jiniang NO.2,and Jiza 203 in Hebei have good en-vironmental adaptability,with a yield of about 7500 kg/hm2 and certain lodging resistance,making them suitable for high-yield planting on saline alkali land in Cangzhou.Dwarf Dunliangwang and Dwarf Nuoliang NO.7 have the best lodging resistance,but have lower yields and are suitable for planting in areas with higher lodging risks.关键词
