Technologies and methods for nep reduction in worsted carding machines

Abstract
Aiming at the existing worsted carding machines'inability to effectively resolve the problem of nep generation during the wool carding process,The causes of nep formation in worsted carding machines are inves-tigated,and a technique for reducing neps is proposed in combination with existing machinery.Proposes a tech-nical method for reducing neps in worsted carding machines.Through the redesign of the wool feeding plate and feed roller card clothing,the structural modification of the breast cylinder,and the optimization of card clothing configuration,the retrofitting task of the carding machine was completed.Process parameters for the retrofitted carding machine were determined,and the carded slivers were compared and analyzed with those from the original factory carding machine.The results show that the technical method for nep reduction in wor-sted carding machines can effectively alleviate the occurrence of neps in worsted carding machines.Excessively slow speed ratios between carding components and excessively wide settings both result in insufficient opening of wool fibers,increasing nep generation while excessively fast speed ratios and excessively narrow settings cause damage to wool fibers,conversely increasing nep generation.The retrofitted carding machine achieved the best carding effect when the speed ratio between the feed roller and feed roll was 1∶1.67 and the setting was 15 silk(0.15 mm).When the same batch of raw wool was processed separately by the retrofitted carding ma-chine and Tianyu's original factory carding machine,comparative analysis showed that the modified carding machine had a nep reduction rate of over 50%.关键词
