Abstract

The copper-zinc ore bodies in the Bailinchuan,Kuandian county,Liaoning Province,occur in the dolomitic marble of the Dashiqiao formation of the Paleoproterozoic Liaohe group,occurring as stratoid or lenticular bodies.The study reveals that there is a thrust nappe structure in this area.The nappe is thrusted at a low angle from the southwest to the northeast with a migration distance of more than 3 km,resulting in the Liaohe group and Qingbaikou system overlying the Jurassic strata and the development of interlayer fracture zones in the marble.During the early Yanshanian period,granite intruded regionally,and small-scale granite outcrops are exposed in the middle section of the thrust fault within the study area.Ore-bearing hydrothermal fluids migrated along the thrust faults during the granite intrusion process and finally accumulated and mineralized in the interlayer fracture zones of the marble in the hanging wall of the fault,forming 2 comprehensive geochemical exploration anomalies.One of these anomalies has revealed copper-zinc ore bodies through exploration work.By summarizing the geological and mineralization characteristics of the mining area,this paper analyzes the genesis of mineralization and prospecting directions,providing a reference for further exploration work.
