麻杏石甘汤联合常规西医治疗老年肺部感染临床研究
Clinical Study on Ephedra and Apricot Kernel and Gypsum and Licorice Decoction Combined with Conventional Western Medicine in the Treatment of Elderly Patients with Pulmonary Infection

Abstract
Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of Ephedra and Apricot Kernel and Gypsum and Licorice Decoction combined with conventional Western medicine on elderly patients with pulmonary infection.Methods:A total of 40 elderly patients with pulmonary in-fection admitted to Nanyan First People's Hospital from January 2024 to January 2025 were selected and randomly divided into the con-trol group and the study group,with 20 cases in each group.The control group received conventional Western medicine treatment,while the study group received Ephedra and Apricot Kernel and Gypsum and Licorice Decoction in addition to the conventional Western medi-cine treatment.Clinical efficacy,ventilator use time,hospitalization duration,levels of inflammatory factors,TCM syndrome scores,and quality of life scores,etc.were observed in the two groups.Results:The effective rate was 65.00%in the control group and 95.00%in the study group,and the difference was statistically significant between the two groups(P<0.05).The ventilator use time and hospital-ization duration in the study group were significantly shorter than those in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment,the levels of procalcitonin(PCT),C-reactive protein(CRP),and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)were significantly decreased in both groups,and the levels in the study group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).The scores for wheezing,pulmonary rales,shortness of breath,and cough were significantly decreased in both groups,and the above scores in the study group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).The quality of life scores were significantly decreased in both groups,and the scores in the study group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Ephedra and Apricot Kernel and Gypsum and Licorice Decoction com-bined with conventional Western medicine in the treatment of elderly patients with pulmonary infection can improve their symptoms,re-duce the levels of inflammatory factors,shorten ventilator use time and hospitalization duration,and enhance their quality of life.关键词
