Research on the Impact of Internal Pay Gap Among Senior Executives on Digital Transformation:Based on the Chain Mediating Role of Financing Constraints and Innovation Input

Abstract
Taking the A-share listed companies in Shenzhen and Shanghai from 2013 to 2023 as samples,and using financing constraints and innovation input as mediating variables,this paper explores the mechanism of the impact of internal pay gap among senior executives on digital transformation.The research finds that the internal pay gap among senior executives helps to enhance the level of digital transformation of enterprises.Financing constraints and innovation input play a partial mediating role in the positive impact of the internal pay gap among senior executives on digital transformation,and the individual mediating effect of financing constraints is slightly higher than that of innovation input.The internal pay gap among senior executives can also affect digital transformation through the chain mediating path of financing constraints and innovation input,that is,following the transmission path of"internal pay gap among senior executives—financing constraints—innovation input—digital transformation".Furthermore,through heterogeneity analysis in this paper,it is concluded that among executives with overseas backgrounds,among those with low management power,in non-state-owned enterprises,in enterprises in Eastern China,and in non-high-tech enterprises,the internal pay gap among executives has a more significant promoting effect on digital transformation.关键词
