Abstract

This study compared the stand productivity and ecosystem carbon storage between different Cunninghamia lanceolata and broad-leaved mixed forests,aiming to select a mixed forest model with balanced growth and carbon sink.The biomass and carbon content in each component of 10-year-old C.lanceolata×Cyclobalanopsis gilva mixed forest,C.lanceolata×Phoebe bournei mixed forest,and C.lanceolata pure forest were measured to compare the growth and ecosystem carbon storage of different stand types.The results showed that the total carbon storage varied among different stand types(P<0.05).Compared with that of the C.lanceolata pure forest,the total carbon storage of C.lanceolata×C.gilva and C.lanceolata×P.bournei mixed forests increased by 30.28%and 19.21%,respectively.In the ecosystems with different stand types,the soil layer had the highest carbon storage,followed by the tree layer,shrub layer,and herb layer,and the litter layer had the lowest carbon storage(except the C.lanceolata pure forest).The carbon storage in the tree layer had differences(P<0.05)among different stand types.Compared with that of the C.lanceolata pure forest,the carbon storage in the tree layer of C.lanceolata×C.gilva and C.lanceolata×P.bournei mixed forests enhanced by 21.78%and 10.40%,respectively,and the carbon storage in different organs was in the order of stem>root>branch>leaf>bark.The carbon storage in the shrub layer varied among different stand types(P<0.05).The carbon storage in the shrub layer of C.lanceolata×C.gilva and C.lanceolata×P.bournei mixed forests increased by 77.42%and 35.48%,respectively,compared with that of the C.lanceolata pure forest.The carbon storage in the 0-20 cm and 0-40 cm soil layers of C.lanceolata×C.gilva and C.lanceolata×P.bournei mixed forests was higher than that of the C.lanceolata pure forest(P<0.05),while the difference between the two mixed forests was not significant(P>0.05).To sum up,the C.lanceolata×C.gilva mixed forest model has excellent performance in promoting stand growth and enhancing carbon sink,and it is worth popularizing in forestry production.
