The Impact of Applying the PBL+EBM Teaching Model in Urology Teaching on Students'Academic Perfor-mance and Comprehensive Abilities

Abstract
Objective To investigate the impact of the problem-based learning(PBL)+evidence-based medicine(EBM)teaching model on students'academic performance and comprehensive abilities in urology education.Methods 56 interns who were taught by traditional teaching methods in the Department of Urology of the First Affiliated Hospi-tal of Zhengzhou University from December 2022 to De-cember 2023 were selected as the control group,56 interns who were taught by the PBL+EBM teaching model in this hospital from January 2024 to January 2025 were selected as the observation group,the study compared the academic performance,comprehensive abilities,and between the two groups.Results In the observation group,the theoretical scores and skill scores at the time of leaving the depart-ment were both higher than the control group(t=12.412,9.061,P<0.05).The scores of the Mini-Clinical Practice Assessment Scale(Mini-CEX)and the Evaluation Scale for Clinical Thinking Ability of Medical Students in the obser-vation group at the time of department discharge were both higher than those in the control group(t=7.845,5.389,P<0.05).Conclusion When the urology department conducts clinical teaching work,the application of the PBL+EBM teaching model can further enhance the teaching effect and effectively improve students'academic performance and comprehensive abilities.关键词
