Research Progress on Nutritional Characteristics of Dietary Fiber and its Effects on Nutrients Utilization in Pigs

Abstract
In the context where the application of low-protein and low-soybean meal feeding technol-ogy in pig nutrition and production has attracted much attention,increasing the feeding proportion of mixed grains and by-products as substitutes for grain-based feed,along with the effective application of nutritional complementarity and combination effects between unconventional and traditional feeds,has become important goals of diversified feed formulation technologies and grain-saving and emission-reduction strategies.However,when unconventional feeds replace the main feed of conven-tional diets while maintaining the nutritional requirements of pigs at specific physiological stages,the dietary fiber levels and types often become too high or more complex,resulting in a highly diverse structure.The structural changes of dietary fiber affect the synergy and compatibility of other nutri-ents in pig diets,and thereby alter the digestion and metabolism fate of nutrients.Therefore,fully un-derstanding and comprehending the chemical structure,physical properties,nutritional physiology,and structure-activity relationship of dietary fiber is of significant theoretical and practical value for the efficient application of unconventional feed resources,promoting the diversification of feed formu-lation structures,improving the production performance and economic benefits of livestock and poul-try,ensuring food security,and achieving sustainable development.This article starts from the as-pects of dietary fiber components,structural properties,and their physicochemical properties,com-bined with current research progress at home and abroad,elaborates on the nutritional characteristics of dietary fiber and its impact on the utilization of pig nutrients,with the aim of providing references for the efficient application of unconventional feed resources and promoting the diversification of feed formulation structures for pig diets.关键词
