Nutrition Management of Patients with Cirrhosis Post-Transjugular Intrahepatic Portosystemic Shunt:Focus on the Impact of Sarcopenia

Abstract
Transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt(TIPS)has been clinically proven to be an important interventional treatment for complications related to portal hypertension in cirrhosis.However,nutritional management in post-TIPS patients remains a significant challenge.Sarcopenia,a critical manifestation of malnutrition in cirrhosis,severely impacts patient prognosis.The high incidence of sarcopenia following TIPS not only significantly increases the risk of complications such as infections,hepatic encepha-lopathy,and ascites but also further accelerates the process of decompensation.Systematic assessment and intervention for sarcopenia in cirrhotic patients after TIPS can help reduce decompensation events and improve survival rates.Therefore,nutritional management after TIPS should establish the prevention and treatment of sarcopenia as a core strategy,with enhanced early screening and dynamic evaluation of patients'nutritional status.Implementing early,proactive,and comprehensive nutritional interventions targeting sarcope-nia has become a key measure to improve clinical outcomes and long-term prognosis in post-TIPS patients.关键词
