Design and Experiment of Adjustable Cutting-flow Drum Re-threshing Device for Pepper Harvester

Abstract
Aiming at the problems of poor separation effect between chili stalks and chili fruits and high damage rate dur-ing the operation of the existing spring-tooth drum chili harvester,a re-picking device was designed,which can effec-tively improve the separation quality and reduce the fruit damage rate.Through the calculation of relevant formulas and in combination with the internal dimension requirements of the whole machine,key parameters such as the length,diameter and rotation speed range of the drum were determined,and the force exerted on the chili peppers by the spike teeth was analyzed.The rotation speed of the driving drum,the effective length of the spike teeth and the spacing of the spike teeth were selected as the experimental factors,and the damage rate and the un-threshed rate were taken as the evaluation in-dexes to conduct a central composite experiment with three factors and three levels.By using the Design-Expert 12 soft-ware,the optimal values of each parameter were obtained as follows:the rotation speed of the driving drum was 201.79 r/min,the effective length of the spike teeth was 40.47 mm,and the spacing of the spike teeth was 100.49 mm.At this time,the chili pepper crushing rate was 2.32%and the un-threshed rate was 4.33%.The field verification test showed that when the rotation speed of the driving drum was 200 r/min,the effective length of the spike teeth was 40 mm,and the spacing of the spike teeth was 100 mm,the average chili pepper damage rate was 2.43%and the average un-threshed rate was 4.52%.The relative error between the test results and the optimized results was less than 5%,which proved that the device was reasonably designed and met the relevant standards.关键词
