The experiences in treating palpitation by liver-oriented therapy of Professor Guo Weiqin,a renowned Capital National Medical Master in TCM

Abstract
The etiology and pathogenesis of palpitations are complex and intricate.Although the main location of the disease is in heart,it is also related to dysfunction of the five internal organs and the six fu-organs.Its pathological basis is caused by various reasons,such as heart deprived of nourishment or stagnation of heart vessels,disturbance of the mind,leading to palpitations.Professor Guo Weiqin,a renowned Capital National Medical Master in TCM,has unique clinical experiences in treating palpitations,starting from the heart but not limited to it.This review summarizes Professor Guo Weiqin's experiences in treating palpitation by liver-oriented therapy for palpitations.There are five main ideas of treatment for this disease:Soothing the liver,regulating Qi and relieving depression;soothing the liver,promoting blood circulation and unblocking vessels;clearing the liver,purging fire and calming the heart;soothing the liver,invigorating the spleen for eliminating dampness;nourishing blood,softening the liver and nourishing Yin.In addition,calming the mind and relieving palpitations runs through the entire treatment of palpitations.The review incluedes chinic cases for the benefit of fellow partitioner.关键词
