Whole Life Cycle Cost Assessment of Transformers Based on Failure Rate

Abstract
As a key equipment in the power system,transformers have received significant attention from engineering researchers in production practice and scientific research,while ensuring safe operation.The goal of transformer research is to reasonably save the life cycle cost(LCC)of transformers while ensuring their safe operation.This study focuses on the full life cycle cost of transformers,which is divided into initial cost,operating cost,maintenance cost,failure cost,and decommissioning cost.By statistically analyzing the historical fault data of transformers,a corresponding transformer fault tree model is established and the fault rate of a single fixed age transformer is calculated.Based on the distribution of transformer faults,a full life cycle cost model for transformers is constructed to estimate the corresponding full life cycle cost.Taking 110 kV transformer as an example,the differences in the impact of various influencing factors on the cost of the entire life cycle are analyzed,which provides auxiliary support for the selection and maintenance decision-making of transformers,and improves the management level of transformers,and extend their service life.In addition,the correlation between transformer reliability and full LCC is explored,and it is found that the failure rate has a more significant impact on LCC by affecting operation and maintenance(O&M)and failure costs.关键词
