Exploring the pathogenesis of inflammatory bowel disease based on endoplasmic reticulum stress and autophagy and the progress of traditional Chinese medicine intervention research
摘要
Abstract
Inflammatory bowel disease(IBD)is a chronic non-specific disease and its incidence is increasing year by year,and its pathogenesis has not been fully clarified.The current findings suggest that the progression of IBD is inextricably linked to endoplasmic reticulum stress(ERS)and autophagy.Sustained ERS can cause inflamma-tory response and damage the barrier function of intestinal mucosa to promote the development of IBD,while autoph-agy can remove the accumulation of misfolded proteins to maintain endoplasmic reticulum homeostasis.With the characteristics of multi-targets,multi-pathways and low side-effects,TCM has significant clinical efficacy in the pre-vention and treatment of IBD.In this study,we took ERS and autophagy as the entry point,explored their effects on the development of IBD from the aspects of inflammatory response,intestinal mucosal barrier and immune response,and summarised the current progress of the research on the regulation of ERS and autophagy by traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)single-pharmaceuticals,compound formulas and TCM speciality therapies in the treatment of IBD,so as to provide theoretical support for the in-depth understanding of the pathogenesis of IBD,and to provide a new way of thinking for the treatment of IBD with TCM.关键词
