Characteristics and prospecting direction of sandstone type uranium mineralization in Shizigou formation in Wutumeiren area at the southern margin of Qaidam basin

Abstract
The discovery of profitable uranium boreholes in the Wutumeiren area indicates that the southern margin of the Qaidam basin has great potential for sandstone type uranium exploration.In order to further understanding the uranium mineralization conditions and prospecting potential in the Wutumeiren area,and clarify the direction of prospecting,this study systematically analyzed the uranium source,structure,sedimentary construction and alteration transformation,and systematically summarized the ore-forming elements of sandstone type uranium deposits in Shizigou formation of Wutumeiren area.It was believed that the Shizigou formation in Wutumeiren area on the southern margin of the basin had abundant uranium sources and formed a gentle anticline structure,developed braided river and braided river delta sand bodies,and with good redox conditions under a large monocline background.Combined with the characteristics of uranium mineralization,the uranium mineralization of the Shizigou Formation in the study area is believed a typical interlayer oxidation type uranium mineralization,controlled by sedimentary facies and structure.The western anticline belt can serve as a key area for the next step exploration.关键词
