Dual Circulation Promoting Regional Common Prosperity:Theoretical Mechanism and Empirical Test

Abstract
This paper measures the domestic and international circulations across three dimensions:the efficiency of the do-mestic circulation,the depth of the international circulation,and the synergy of the dual circulation,and analyzes the impact mechanisms of the dual circulation on regional common prosperity.The results are as follows:The characteristics of the dual circu-lation changes in China's economy are that the efficiency of the domestic circulation generally improves,the depth of the interna-tional circulation fluctuates and rise,and the coordinated capacity of the domestic and international circulation is enhanced.The gap in the depth of international circulation between regions has narrowed,while the gaps in domestic circulation efficiency and dual circulation synergy between regions have widened.From 1987 to 2008,the expanding regional disparities in the depth of in-ternational circulation led to insufficient international circulation in most regions,which is the major reason for the widening re-gional income gap.From 2009 to 2022,low efficiency in domestic circulation has widened regional income gap,the depth of inter-national circulation has adjusted to narrow these gaps.Under the influence of the dual circulation,the current manifestation of re-gional common prosperity is the narrowing of income gap between regions.The primary obstacle to achieving regional common prosperity at this stage is the low efficiency of the domestic circulation.关键词
