Abstract

Soil samples were collected from an oilfield environmental protection station in Xinjiang,and 23 strains with potential degradation ability of petroleum hydrocarbons were screened by using crude oil as the sole carbon source.After enrichment culture,the corresponding bacterial liquids was obtained to study the degradation effect of 23 strains on petroleum hydrocarbons(C10-C40),and four strains were selected to carry out soil remediation experiments.The results showed that after 21 days of degradation experiments,the degradation rates of petroleum hydrocarbons by 5 strains were significantly higher than those of other strains,which were Bacillus stearothermophilus,Pseudomonas aeruginosa,Pseudomonas yangonensis,Nocardia otitidiscaviarum and Rhodococcus ruber.Among them,Rhodococcus ruber degraded over 90%of petroleum hydrocarbons in 7 days,being an excellent petroleum hydrocarbon degradation functional strain.The study also indicated that the degradation rates of petroleum hydrocarbons by degradation bacteria in soil environment were significantly lower than in liguid culture medium environment,and the soil remediation effect of mixed bacteria performed better than single bacteria.
