Abstract

Tea shoot harvesting is the most labon-tensive and costly stage in tea production,and the mechanization of tea picking is therefore crucial for enhancing the quality and efficiency of China's tea industry.Currently,mechanization is feasible for bulk tea harvesting,while the famous and higuality tea is mainly hanicked,facing the contradiction between labor shortage and the growing demand for picking.With rapid economic development and rising living standards,the demand for premium tea production has been growing.However,this is challenged by issues such as rural hollowing-out,agricultural marginalization,and an aging farming population have intensified.These factors have led to a shortage of agricultural labor resources that severely constrain the development of the premium tea industry.Under these circumstances,replacing manual tea picking with machines has significant practical importance.This paper provides an overview of research progress and the current application status of tea-harvesting robots,introduces key technologies for tea shoot recognition and picking-point localization based on traditional image processing and machine learning,deep learning,and summarizes methods of detaching tea shoots using enffectors.To address the challenges faced by current tea-harvesting robots,we suggest that future research and development of intelligent tea-harvesting equipment should continue to focus on improving field infrastructure,integrating mechanization with agronomic practices,optimizing vision algorithms,innovating intelligent harvesting devices,and enhancing picking efficiency and quality.Such efforts are expected promote the high-quality and efficient development of the tea industry.
