Abstract

With the tightening of environmental protection policies in China,the demand for advanced wastewater treatment technologies,especially advanced oxidation technologies,has increased.As a promising technology,ozone catalytic oxidation is suitable for the oxidation treatment of complex and difficult to degrade organic compounds,and can be applied in the deep treatment of papermaking wastewater.Among them,Chemical Oxygen Demand(COD)is a commonly used indicator to evaluate the effectiveness of organic pollutant treatment.Taking the engineering practice of ozone catalytic oxidation technology for secondary biological treatment of wastewater in paper mills as an example,the influence of parameters such as ozone concentration and dosage on the removal rate of organic pollutants is verified.The results confirmed that in the ozone catalytic oxidation system,as the reaction progresses,COD concentration becomes the key factor affecting the reaction rate,and simply prolonging the water retention time cannot continuously improve COD removal efficiency;the concentration of ozone addition is positively correlated with COD removal rate,but the optimal concentration needs to be determined through intermediate experiments to balance treatment efficiency and cost;the COD removal rate of ozone catalytic oxidation system is mostly maintained at 60%~80%,and the degradation upper limit is constrained by factors such as hydroxyl radical(·OH)quenching and fluid resistance in the catalyst.The research results can provide reference for the large-scale engineering application of ozone catalytic oxidation technology in the deep treatment of papermaking wastewater.
