Abstract
[Purpose/Significance]This article systematically reviews the development of China's interna-tional studies think tanks over the past decade,aiming to identify the driving forces,major achievements,challeng-es,and development pathways behind their transformation from"great country think tanks"to high-quality"strong country think tanks".[Method/Process]Through macro-level analysis and case studies,this article explores the China's international studies think tanks evolving policy environment and highlights three core achievements:sig-nificant expansion in the number and diversity of think tanks,forming a system characterized by a"national team"leading role,the rise of"university think tanks",the supplementation of the"non-governmental faction",and the coordination of"networking";improved research depth and service capability,evidenced by increased original re-search output,proactive agenda-setting,diversified policy service channels,and stronger data platforms;growing international influence,as shown by support for home diplomacy,expansion of international communication plat-forms,deepening of global cooperation,and active competition for discursive power.[Result/Conclusion]This study finds that think tanks have become both contributors to national decision-making and important players in global affairs.However,they still face deep-rooted challenges,including institutional and systemic constraints,in-sufficient research quality,talent development bottlenecks,and limited international discourse power.The conclu-sion emphasizes that future development must focus on deepening institutional reform,enhancing research quality and depth,implementing talent enhancement strategies,and improving international communication effectiveness,so as to advance towards becoming the truly"strong country think tanks".关键词
