Abstract

To reduce the maximum temperature and temperature difference of lithium-ion batteries,square lithium-iron phosphate batteries are focused on as the research subject in this paper.By using a phase change microcapsule suspension liquid immersion cooling method,the thermal management performance of batteries under different discharge rates is studied.The research indicates that the optimal cooling effect for individual cells is achieved at a mass fraction of 12.5%and an immersion ratio of 0.6.Under these conditions,experiments on battery packs at an ambient temperature of 35 ℃ and a discharge rate of 3 C show that the average maximum temperature of the pack is approximately 38 ℃,with a maximum temperature non-uniformity of about 3 ℃,which meets the normal operating temperature requirements of the battery pack.
