A Photo-Electric Synergistically Excited Cold Cathode THz Radiation Source Based on Rectangular Waveguide Array Output Structure
摘要
Abstract
Terahertz(THz)radiation sources hold significant application potential in high-bandwidth wireless communication,high-resolution radar imaging,and biomedical detection.A new THz radiation source scheme based on rectangular waveguide array output structure using photo-electric synergistically excited cold-cathode is proposed.It generates high-frequency electromagnetic wave outputs above 0.6 THz with the help of ultrafast and ultrashort pulsed laser excitation,so that the electron emission from the cold cathode carries high-frequency signals directly without the need for a complex electron beam modulation component and an additional microwave feed-in source.A device structure that can generate 0.6 THz electromagnetic wave output is developed and designed by CST software,along with the corresponding output waveguide array.The simulation results demonstrate that under the synergistic excitation of femtosecond laser pulses(wavelength 800 nm,pulse duration 200 fs,repetition rate 1 kHz)and an anode-cathode voltage of 1000 V,the nano cold cathode achieves an average emission current of 1 nA with initial electron kinetic energy of 2000 eV.The radiation source achieves an electromagnetic wave output with a peak power of 13 nW and a center frequency of 607 GHz.关键词
