Abstract

This paper addresses the limitations of differential interferometric synthetic aperture radar(D-InSAR)in monitor-ing deformation with single-orbit data and the issue of atmospheric delay effects.Taking the Jishi Mountain earthquake in Gansu Province as an example,Sentinel-1A satellite's ascending and descending orbit synthetic aperture radar(SAR)images are used,combined with atmospheric correction methods using global atmospheric correction online service(GACOS)data and elevation-related techniques.The impact of different orbits and correction methods on co-seismic deformation field moni-toring is analyzed.Based on the vertical deformation results,the surface volume changes affected by the earthquake are derived.The results show that the co-seismic deformation field monitored using both ascending and descending orbit data exhibits an uplift deformation pattern that is approximately elliptical in shape.However,due to the influence of different imaging conditions,there are subtle differences in spatial distribution and deformation values between the two datasets.Addi-tionally,both atmospheric correction methods based on GACOS data and elevation-related techniques effectively reduce the impact of atmospheric delay effects.Among them,the GACOS data method is more efficient in removing atmospheric delay interference and better preserves the seismic deformation signal.The soil volume changes affected by the earthquake,as monitored by the ascending and descending orbit methods,were 6.106×10⁶ m³ and 8.574×10⁶ m³,respectively.
