Industrial Design:A Core New Engine for Chinese-Style Modernization and High-Quality Development—A Series of Studies on Constructing an Independent Knowledge System of Chinese Industrial Design

Abstract
This paper systematically elaborates on the constructive logic and contemporary value of"Industrial Design"-an innovative theoretical concept,and its disciplinary system,namely"the Discipline of Industrial Design".Against the backdrop of AI-driven in-depth industrial integration in the contemporary era,the traditional single industrial design paradigm is confronting fundamental challenges.Emerging as a response to this context,Industrial Design is a strategic design activity that takes the human life safety and all-round development as its fundamental purpose,aiming to integrate,interweave,and conduct systematic innovation across the four major industries:agriculture,industry,digital industry,and service industry.As a concretization and deepening of social design,which constitutes one of the three pillars(meta-designology,parxis-designology,and social-designology)of"the system of People's Designdogy"constructed by the author,the Discipline of Industrial Design is committed to grasping the design laws of industrial integration at the theoretical level.This paper conducts an in-depth analysis on the conceptual connotation and disciplinary characteristics of Industrial Design,demonstrates its core role in fostering new-quality productive forces,practicing the strategy of"investing in people",and constructing a project-based training model for high-end interdisciplinary talents,and clarifies its in-depth isomorphic relationship with the national strategies,such as design-led national development,craftsman culture,and design governance.Finally,the paper proposes that constructing an independent Chinese knowledge system of the Discipline of Industrial Design with the"Two Combinations"as its spiritual essence and the the Chinese Kaogongology as its cultural root,is an inevitable requirement for providing a core theoretical engine and practical path for Chinese-style modernization and high-quality development.关键词
