Recent Advances in Research on Histidine Triad Superfamily Proteins
摘要
Abstract
The histidine triad(HIT)proteins are widely distributed across various organisms and constitute a superfamily of nucleotide hydrolases/transferases,characterized by the catalytic motif HxHxH.These proteins can be classified into three major branches:HINT,FHIT,and GALT.HIT superfamily proteins play crucial roles in DNA repair,signal transduction,and disease progression,and their aberrant expression or mutation is also associated with various diseases,such as cancer and neurodegenerative diseases.Therefore,a systematic comparison and analysis of the structural features and catalytic mechanisms of the HIT superfamily proteins is essential for under-standing their functional roles in different physiological processes.This knowledge may provide valu-able insights for the design of small-molecule drugs targeting these proteins and ultimately contribute to the early diagnosis and treatment of diseases such as cancer.关键词
