摘要

Abstract

Droplet-based microfluidics has revolutionized research on enzymatic reactions by precisely compartmentalizing reaction systems into discrete microdroplets at the picoliter to nanoliter scale.This technology relies on precisely engineered microchannels and employs strategies such as T-junctions,flow focusing,or co-flow to generate highly monodisperse droplets.Its core advantages,including high-throughput analysis,minimal sample and reagent consumption,precise microenvironmental control,and effective compartmentalization between droplet units,effectively overcome cross-contamination and better mimic natural microenvironments like intracellular conditions.Consequently,it significantly enhances both efficiency and depth of enzymology studies.The applications of droplet microfluidics in enzymatic reactions have diversified,demonstrating substantial potential particularly in cutting-edge fields such as enzyme directed evolution and immobilized enzyme research.This review provided a systematic review of the background of droplet microfluidics technology,its advantages and impact in enzymatic reactions,as well as its specific applications in this field.Additionally,the current challenges and future development directions of the droplet microfluidics technology were also discussed.
