摘要

Abstract

Objective To investigate the association of prepregnancy body mass index(BMI)and gestational weight gain(GWG)with fetal macrosomia,so as to provide evidence for the prevention of macrosomia in the local population. Methods Using the Wenzhou Maternal and Child Health Information Management Platform, data were collected for pregnant women who registered at any institution in Cangnan County between January and July 2023 and underwent regular antenatal care and delivery in Wenzhou.Binary logistic regression was applied to analyze the relationships of prepregnancy BMI and GWG with fetal macrosomia. Results A total of 1,762 pregnant women were included.Among them,215(12.2%)were underweight,343(19.4%)overweight,and 100(5.7%)obese before pregnancy. The mean GWG was 13.21±4.58 kg,with 189(10.7%)having inadequate weight gain and 782(44.4%)having excessive weight gain.Of the newborns delivered,117(6.6%)were macrosomic.Prepregnancy overweight or obesity(OR=3.65,95%CI:2.38-5.59)and excessive GWG(OR=2.82,95%CI:1.78-4.45)were both significantly associated with macrosomia(P<0.001).Conclusion Maternal prepregnancy overweight/obesity and excessive gestational weight gain increase the risk of fetal macrosomia.
