摘要

Abstract

To enhance the mechanical behavior and energy dissipation capacity of mortise-tenon joints in timber structures,a rectangular friction damper with multi-stage energy dissipation mechanisms was proposed.The damper combines elastic energy storage in the connecting rods,rotational friction at the corner points,and sliding friction between the plates to achieve graded energy dissipation,while also providing a displacement amplification effect.To predict the mechanical response of the damper under load,force analysis was conducted on different working stages of the damper,and the theoretical calculation formula of the restoring force model was derived and established.To study the influence of different parameters on the mechanical performance of rectangular friction dampers and verify the accuracy of the established restoring force model,five dampers were designed with bolt preload and friction coefficient of the friction surface as the main parameters,and the performance test research of the dampers under reciprocating force was carried out.Results indicate that the moment-rotation curve of the damper exhibits a rectangular characteristic,the area of the hysteresis loop increases with the increase of rotation angle,and the equivalent viscous damping coefficient gradually increases as the rotation angle grows and eventually stabilizes at approximately 0.6,demonstrating high energy dissipation efficiency.Although increasing the preload or friction coefficient improves overall energy dissipation,excessive values may lead to out-of-plane torsion and reduce energy dissipation efficiency at small rotations.The proposed model agrees well with experimental results,confirming its accuracy.When θ≤0.1 rad,the calculation effort of its bending moment can be controlled within 10%,the calculation error of the ultimate bending moment is also limited to within 20%.
