Abstract

Aiming at the production problems of excessive post-harvest new shoot growth and low flower bud differentiation rate of early-maturing peach cultivar Siyuehong in Jinxiu County,Guangxi,this study explored the effects of paclobutrazol(100~300 mg/L)foliar spraying on shoot control and flower promotion,as well as its physiological mechanism.The results showed that the treatment with 250 mg/L paclobutrazol(with the addition of 0.05%organosilicon adjuvant and 0.3%potassium dihydrogen phosphate)significantly inhibited new shoot growth:compared with the control(foliar spraying with clear water),the new shoot length was shortened by 46.78%,the internode length by 34.38%,the basal thickness of new shoots was 6.5 mm,with an increase of 27.45%.The flower bud differentiation rate reached 92.8%(observed 60 days after treatment),which was 36.5 percentage points higher than that of the control.The soluble sugar content of flower buds increased by 42.03%and the C/N ratio was 9.1,with an increase of 44.44%.The ABA/GA3 ratio of leaves increased by 2.92 times(compared with the control).Combined with the local high-temperature and high-humidity climate,it is recommended to spray 250 mg/L paclobutrazol twice(10 days and 25 days after fruit harvest)together with supporting measures such as ditch drainage(depth ≥ 30 cm),branch pulling to an angle of 60°~70°,and foliar potassium supplement,so as to effectively improve the effects of shoot control and flower promotion.
